RE: Music - Scrapper - 02-10-2013 This very talented woman recently moved to Southern Oregon... if you get a chance to see one of her shows... GO! RE: Music - illcommandante - 02-11-2013 Wow. I will try to see her. The better a singer is, the easier it seems to be, for me to understand them. The exception is Gillian Welch. When you go deaf, the first things you lose, are the female back-up singers, and your second language. Prine had most of the top female artists behind him, one time or another. And I found out when I got some hearing aids. They didn't help, for long. RE: Music - Valuesize - 02-11-2013 (02-11-2013, 06:56 PM)illcommandante Wrote: Wow. I will try to see her. RE: Music - illcommandante - 02-11-2013 Apparently, what I need, is a seventh cranial nerve. RE: Music - bbqboy - 02-12-2013 from Peter: When I first listened to the music of Spiro, I thought it was really different. The sounds that hit you first are sounds that you are familiar with; they sound folky, but once you start listening to the music and how it's composed you hear elements of systems music - people like Steve Reich, Philip Glass, dance music. All sorts of musical influences are woven into this very contemporary music. I think this is soulful music, passionate music and I love it. RE: Music - Simon Peter - 02-14-2013 RE: Music - Wonky - 02-14-2013 Slipping a bit off topic for a moment, I wonder if Janice (who started this thread) ever checks in anymore? Her voice here was always pleasant and I miss it. Do I remember correctly that she and Clete once had lunch in Portland? Maybe he can bring us up to date. So, back to music. I guess she has moved onto greener pastures. I remember her fondly and wish her well. (Clete may stubble onto the this and provide more info) RE: Music - Simon Peter - 02-15-2013 RE: Music - bbqboy - 02-15-2013 RE: Music - Crazylace - 02-15-2013 Happy Friday. RE: Music - Scrapper - 02-16-2013 Me and my crew! Ya'll know who ya are! RE: Music - Leonard - 02-16-2013 In keeping with Lent; RE: Music - illcommandante - 02-16-2013 At my inlaws, St. Patricks day is always a welcome relief from Lent.
