Weird how subjective music is, don't you think? I really like some of Tom Waits stuff (Way down in the hole) but many of his other recordings grate on me. Same with Ry Cooder...I like what he wrote for "Paris, Texas" but not a lot of his other stuff.
Of course I like EVERYTHING Justin Bieber does.
I mean, he ROCKS.

I consider myself fortunate that I like a wide range of music across many genres. I read somewhere "it's about the performance, not the optics" and that sums it up for me nicely. There's been a wealth of good music posted up in this thread and we're all fortunate that there hasn't been any Bei...... Bei.... Beib... I can't even say it, it burns too much!

FYI... this is what Mariah Carey sounds like when you don't hear the background music. Just her... through the mic. She goes from bad to MUCH worse.

Anyway the ability to actually be a talented singer is no longer necessary to be a star.Neither is being a talented musician who can actually play an instrument.Now we have songs where a computer plays music.
But Who cares. Good for Brittany and her fans, they are happy with her and she makes the big bucks.
I also believe she worked her ass off to get where she is.
