Does anyone on The Forum actually MAKE music?

I play the guitar. I pound on a piano. And I'm not bad with the spoons. Laughing

I used to "improvise" on the kazoo. But I much rather listen to people who really have some talent. Cool

I envy you. I have "white guy" rhythm and can't even play the spoons. I can, however, sing harmony to "You Are My Sunshine". Wink

I'm not a Van Morrison fan. But this cut is really good! Somehow missed it when I thumbed through the Van Morrison playbook. Glad you posted it and I'll add it to my iTunes library.

Weird how subjective music is, don't you think? I really like some of Tom Waits stuff (Way down in the hole) but many of his other recordings grate on me. Same with Ry Cooder...I like what he wrote for "Paris, Texas" but not a lot of his other stuff.

Of course I like EVERYTHING Justin Bieber does. Laughing I mean, he ROCKS. Razz

Been in the medicine cabinet again have we?? Smiling

I consider myself fortunate that I like a wide range of music across many genres. I read somewhere "it's about the performance, not the optics" and that sums it up for me nicely. There's been a wealth of good music posted up in this thread and we're all fortunate that there hasn't been any Bei...... Bei.... Beib... I can't even say it, it burns too much! Zipped

Laughing

I knew it. Sorry. I spoke to soon. Embarrassed

RE: Music - Scrapper - 12-06-2014

Today my 10 year old grandgirl said for Christmas she wanted a Justin Beiber poster to put on her bedroom wall... and darts to throw at it! Ha! I love her!

RE: Music - Scrapper - 12-10-2014

Merry Christmas to all y'all! Big Grin

Some of Van Morrison's best stuff, he has done in the last 10 years. Try Morrison with John Lee Hooker doing Gloria.
Some of Van Morrison's best stuff was with Them...

FYI... this is what Mariah Carey sounds like when you don't hear the background music. Just her... through the mic. She goes from bad to MUCH worse. Twitch

Give this a listen... go ahead... turn up the sound! I double dawg dare you! Holy Crapola! Blink

Yep she has lost it and apparently doesn't know it. That was horrible.

RE: Music - tvguy - 12-11-2014

Well OK but Mariah could actually sing at one pointSmiling Anyway the ability to actually be a talented singer is no longer necessary to be a star.
Neither is being a talented musician who can actually play an instrument. Now we have songs where a computer plays music.

But Who cares. Good for Brittany and her fans, they are happy with her and she makes the big bucks.
I also believe she worked her ass off to get where she is.

Is someone going to post a slutty Smiley Cyprus video nowRazz It would fit right in.

Well see now, Miley Cyrus (despite popular belief) CAN actually sing. Big Grin

And one you MAY even like.

Who needs talent when they can just use Auto Tune. Most newer performers seem to be addicted to it. Some wouldn't even be performers without it.
