That is an inspiring short speach. I am in full agreement. 

I hope that some saner people around him will keep him from doings most of the things he said he would do. 

Besides, if he gets stupid quick, he can be impeached. 

Viva la resistance.

I wonder about "The Resistance".
 
The Senate will be controlled by the Republican Party. 

The Republicans in the Senate now have the option (thanks to mistakes made my the Democrats) to use the "Nuclear Option" of deciding issues with only a majority vote after a useless Democratic filibuster (and some minor rule procedures). 

And The House is controlled not only by Republicans but by a group of some 40 plus of the most in rabid members in the history of that body. Watch for them to denounce evolution, climate change, freedom FROM religon, to balance the budget on the backs of the working class and the poor, kill every social program FDR promoted, and find a place to start a war. 

Health care reform, as we know it, is dead. 

We can expect the Senate Judicary Committee (Chaired by a Republican and with a majority of Republicans) to appoint the next several (?) Supreme Court Justices. They may very well make the late Anthony Scalalia look like a flaming liberal. 

The RNC might well keep President Trump from embarrassing himself, and the party, to excess, but he will still be able to use the power of the office to run amok and foul the workings of government to at least some degree. 

As Dick Tuck said in the 60's, "The people have spoken...the bastards". 

Resist where you can, but expect a bummpy ride. 

We will recover because Trump and the "ideals" he preaches will fail. But, it will take some time. What condition the nation will be in by then is scary. But what is really scary is that this man was elected, fairly, by millions of American voters. I've yet to meet one, but they came out of the dark corners to elect this man. 

We can't allow it to happen again.
