I too get to choose. I did.
But I was not "kept stoned and stupid" in making my decisions about political issues. I don't "buy into" everything Liberal.
I doubt that you are in lock step with everthiing Conservative.

It might be a good idea if rather than pouncing on the labels we are tagged with, we go straight to the point and discuss the ISSUES of our political leanings.

I rejoice in the Libreal programs that have helped make our society better. Social Security, the national highway system,  public education for all, the rights of those different from the social norm, and other benefits who's costs are shared by the greater society. Not perfect, by any means, Liberal ideals have made us a more progressive people.

Having said that, I also admire those values that Conservatives claim. Personal responsibility, a solid work ethic, the desire to remain as free as possible from assistance from our fellow citizens, and the pride in American traditions.

Funny: True Liberal and Conservative values not all that far apart.

Liberal, AS YOU SEE IT, may be close to Conservative values.  True Liberal, as it REALLY IS TODAY, is closer to Socialist.  Not funny to me.

Yeah well you guys are all the same. you have all this hatred for "liberals" but when pushed to define you say TRUE LIBERAL whatever the F*** that is.
But as Wonky so eloquently points out you define the Majority by the few.

Pot meet Kettle, and so it goes.....

Bullshit, maybe you forgot who you are talking too but I am not a far left liberal. Neither is Wonky. And I have never pigeon holed all conservatives like you and your ILK do to liberals.
You don't and won't see me blaming all that's wrong with our country and the world on a political party.

Guys like you are brainwashed from listening to and believing only one side of most issues, Maybe it's  a family thing to be so closed minded, maybe it's because you have led a boring life in this valley and haven't experienced much of the real world.
Maybe and I think this is the closest.. You are just a bitter man for reasons I don't care to know. Maybe you and a couple others have issues and you just transfer your anger to politics.

Guys like you think you are so ALL knowing when in fact ANYONE so in lock step with the FAR right political ideology OR FAR left  is quite the opposite.

Basically fuck you for calling me stoned and stupid just because I am defined by my beliefs as a liberal. You always blab about how none of us know you. Well I guarantee NO ONE who ever met me or Wonky thought we were stoned and stupid.

Laughing Laughing  This is one of the funniest things I have ever seen.  Those who know me (on a daily basis, not the people I have "met" here) would not even recognize your description of me. (And I have broken bread, drink, and ridden motorcycles on a sunny day with Wonky)

I think you are projecting just a little of your own personality onto me. The being bitter etc. Sad.  But the highlighted description NAILS Valuesize to a "T", and I think you can agree with that.

My "stoned and stupid" reference was to society as a whole, and it has been referenced by enemies of the Nation for a number of years as a method of destruction for the USA.  The recent headline about the heroin deaths are an example of how that "conspiracy theory" could in fact be happening.  If you wish to take it as a personal attack, rock on.

And a good time was had by all! (Who was "the lady" who threw her soggy burger at you? You were more of a gentleman than I might have been...kind of unprovoked as I remember).

And I do miss the motorcycle. Father time gets us all and I was aware of slower reactions. Rode 50 years (on and off) and never hurt, so feel I did the right thing in giving it up.

So, TVg came at you full throttle!  Laughing . He does that. But, don't we all. I, for one, am often guilty of not taking time to read between the lines and I think I should. Hell, most of us don't sit up half the night crafting perfectly worded replys, and all too often I think we are guilty of saying one thing, meaning another.

Not that TVg is guilty of that! He'd hold me up by the ankles and bitch whip me for suggesting as much! The man speaks his OWN mind. Often.  Razz

Whatever. I do remember those times, and glad we had 'em! We DO have history here: May not always be fun and games, but we've been "together" a long, long time. (Tia will come on and tell us we are "newbies).

So, "Lugo", you work on me and turm me toward a more conservative bent, and I'll do what I can to get you a ticket to Senator Reid's retirement party.  Laughing

I have no idea who or what he was responding to.  But I WILL go on record right now, accusing him of being a HUGE tin foil hat nutjob that wants Trump dead.

Yeah, I got lost too.
But "Want's Trump dead"?
Wow. Don't recall seeing that. Maybe...I miss a lot these days.

Speaking of Trump: It's being reported this morning that he invited Mr. Romney to dinner "just to watch him grovel" and had no intention of inviting him to join the cabinet. If true, you gotta admit Mr. Trump plays his hand well. Poor Mitt: Just can't find work now.  Smiling

Larry has a hard time hearing the truth about himself. In this post, TV fed Hugo a bit of truth about himself being a tin hat type guy and he decided to try and pass it off to me. Until these tin hat Trumpsters, no one has accused me of that and I just pointed it out.

Okay: MIssed that. (I miss a lot of stuff).

I wonder, however if it's at all accurate to think of Mr. Trump as a "tin hat kind of guy". When I think of tin hat folks, I think of people who report their most recent trip to the moon where they had lunch with little green men.

Mr. Trump may be one of a kind in politics and business but don't see him as "out of his gourd"

So, hard to think of supporters of Mr. Trump as "tin hat" kind of folks.

Whatever that's worth.

Nothin?

Then I'm glad I brought it to your attention. I thought it was cool of TV to have your back.  Smiling

And for the record, it wasn't Trump that was referred to as a "tin hat kind of guy" it was Hugo.

Well, maybe I'm getting lost here. Again.  Wink

But Hugo's remark was, "Personally, I think keeping people stoned and stupid explains how Liberalism has spread to the degree that it has.  No thanks."

I responded, and TVg agreed. (TVg may have had my back, but ONLY when it dovetails with what he things. You have been here long enough to know TVg has A MIND OF HIS OWN!)

So, while Hugo and I have very different feeling about most political things, I don't see him "wearing a tin hat". For instance: Hugo and I share a lot of social feelings, like personal responsibility, the value of serving our country in some way, common ethiical standards, and the value of good fresh meat. Laughing

Tin Hat stuff, to me, is a totally differnt ball game.

So I made some cannabis oil with coconut oil with some of the organic cannabis I grew for boy, and while we need to hold off on doses for him until the med change is done, I have started taking it. I don't do pain pills much at all, the last one I had was last year, I simply push through pain. Degenerative disc disease, arthritis in my whole spine, knees, and shoulders, knee surgery, and several broken bones can hurt over time. The oil has actually made the pain almost disappear without being high. I sleep longer because I'm not constantly tossing and turning from pain.
