why does the program automatically log me off

Postby cletus1 » Wed Mar 03, 2010 7:51 am

Recently I lost two very long posts because I hit the post button not realizing that I had been auto logged off. You lose the post and can not retrieve it when that happens. Yes I know ways around this like typing in word then coping it to the forum or saving the post while you check to see if you're still online, but I forget. What is the amount of time I can be online idle before I'm logged off by the program? Can that time be extended or can auto log off be turned off? Sometimes I'm doing other things while on line and it pisses me off to come back to the computer and hit the submit button only to lose my post. :x

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that perhaps the computer doesn't like what you type :D

OTOH.....I have never ever been auto logged off. Must be something in your internet or computer.

My computer loves me so I doubt its that, but just in case, I think I'll type some nice things about you and see if that fixes the problem.

Just a question for clarification. If you are NOT posting but just onsite, will it log you off after a period of idleness, or is it just when a post in process becomes idle?

I think both. I know it logs me off after a period of idleness for sure, I don't know that the program can recognize that a post is in progress, its probably just a computer command based on time. Still, when I'm working on a post I'm not idle I'm thinking. :)

Dont go wasting your sweet talk.

I am sure it won't fix the problem. I am no techie but I bet it's some glitch in your computer. I have the forum on my desktop all day at work and never get logged off.

Why?
Why?
Why?

Because the forum leader would block your commie butt if he could.
Because you use cat poop to grow tomatoes.
Because you go to Bomba Bomba or whatever while the rest of us are lucky to get to Hyatt Lake.
Because you voted for a guy who was born in Iceland or someplace not in the U.S.
Because you are a smarty pants and use too many big words.
Because you get chocolate chip cookies from Com/Mom and we don't.
And just because.
