Looks like 2017,  will break the record for, number of Category 4 hurricanes (or greater) in a season.

The current record is one, so it could easily double the record.
Geek

I think there are three in the Atlantic as we speak.

I'm not sure if Irma counted, it hit the island as a CAT4, but when it it the main land of Florida it was down to CAT 3.

Quote:Wednesday's high temperature, a whopping 92 degrees, set a record — and it's well above the average of 73 degrees for Sept. 20. The toastiness continues a stretch of unseasonably hot weather that began Sept. 15

Yes, folks "up and at 'em", ready to battle with windmills, crabgrass, and fake news.

Sorry, but I don't think there is an afterlife. I do think there is a Twilight Zone that lasts about a tenth of a second. Don't blink.

And now we enter autumn, a season the poets use to reflect about that time of life when the leaves of our lives are turning, preparing to fall to the ground and provide the stuff of new life. A wonderful season and even the metaphor is graceful and helpful in accepting the cycle that must continue.

"Graceful"...what a pleasant word.

Wishing you a pleasant Saturday.

I was just making light of the end of the world predicted for today. But you go get 'em if you want. I'll wish you a pleasant Saturday and raise you a Sunday right back.

PS - I don't believe in an afterlife either. You only get one go round.

Embarrassed Totally missed the "prediction thing". (I was raised in an full gospel holy roller fundamentalist church and we were told the "2nd coming" was going to happen about twice a week.  Wink ...so I don't pay much attention to this crap.

Well, by the 1400's they no longer believed you could "fall off" the edge of the world.
However, on maps that extended beyond what they could even imagine, they wrote "Here, be dragons".
...and we are still living with superstitions.

There are Dragons. On the Galapagos islands. I've always thought that there is possibility that there were dragons elsewhere , maybe bigger, at some point.
Even the possibility that they could create fire has been explained. If a bug can shoot 212 degree acid to defend itself why is it that hard to believe an animal can breath and ignite gas?
Ever light a fart? Laughing

BTW there is now a group who called themselves  flat earthers

Oh, crap! I'm kind'a busy that day. Can we change it to the 16th? That would be better for me.

Wouldn't the 14th be better, then you wouldn't have to deal with the stuff on the 15th
