I saw this version earlier this week, and I saw the studio version a few weeks ago.  Phenomenal.

I must be the only person who isn't just amazed by this cover. Sorry.

No, not the only one.

Everyone has their own taste in music. Doesn't make them right or wrong. It just is.

Anyone who likes this version is stupid!  I like it. I wish it wasn't so slow. The original wasn't as slow when the Everly brothers did it the eighties. it but It's OK for country western music.

They sound good. Better than the album.

Maybe not the only one, but one of a very few I imagine. And it does make them wrong and stupid and tone deaf.  Razz

Maybe so, I still don't care for it. Singing "The Sounds of Silence" as a power ballad is too much contrast for this old Simon and Garfunkel fan.

I fight against the tendency to judge songs by the original. I don't want the original to make me unable to appreciate the great cover songs that other singers perform. Below are 2 different versions of the Sounds of Silence song. I hate all the crying in the first video, so I closed my eyes and just listened. It is well performed in my opinion, different but good. The second video has it good points as well. Perhaps I have been watching "The Voice" for too long.

I agree. I enjoyed both of those versions. Guess I just don't like the Disturbed version. It's OK if others do.   Smiling

It's hard not to, but I often like covers.  Just not that Disturbed one. Feels to affected to me.  That doesn't mean others can't enjoy it.

Our Election Cycle

We must complete the trip, try not to lose your grip

No sight of solid ground and never look straight down

Deeper, deeper, deeper, deeper

Your claustrophobic brain sucking you down the drain
The walls are closing in, the air is getting thin

The elevator broke, it went right through the floor
It left a burning hole, down and down and down we go
We're in a deadly spin, hating this spin we're in
We're helpless, panic grows, down and down and down we go

Daylight is at an end, you'll never see again
You'll soon embrace the sight, this cold eternal light

The elevator broke, it went right through the floor
It left a burning hole, down and down and down we go
We're in a deadly spin, hating this spin we're in
Our helpless panic grows, down and down and down we go

The elevator broke, it went right through the floor
It left a burning hole, down and down and down we go
We're in a deadly spin, hating this spin we're in

One of the Prince songs I really like is a blues version of his song I Could Never Take The Place of Your Man. I have never been able to find that song since Valuesize posted it here long ago.

I already did an exastive search for that song because I wanted to buy it on iTunes. If I remember correctly the video you posted was removed due to copyright infringement claims.

I can't find it now either. You might like this one. It's nowhere near as good as that other video but I think it's pretty cool.
