But for some reason, the Grange didn't have labels on the large gallon tomatoes, so I went with the 5 inch pots. http://medford.craigslist.org/grd/4447934044.html RE: What's in your garden? - Snail - 05-05-2014 Wet dirt. RE: What's in your garden? - Tiamat - 05-05-2014 Well, I haven't bought my peppers yet....I might visit this guy. There are a lot of folks who sell out of their backyard greenhouses. RE: What's in your garden? - Tiamat - 05-05-2014 On the other hand, I might want to find someone closer. I'd kill the difference in gas money. RE: What's in your garden? - cletus1 - 05-06-2014 I will start planting today. The greenhouse is full and I am sure the plants are getting root bound. It's not the 15th of May, the traditional "safe" day for planting. Although last year, I'm pretty sure we had a frost after the 15th of May. RE: What's in your garden? - Tiamat - 05-15-2014 I bought a stupice heirloom tomato today. Odd looking thing. I'll give it a try. RE: What's in your garden? - Scrapper - 05-16-2014 We all know I don't have a garden... nor a green thumb. I do, however, have roses that just grow wild all over! I cut some today so I can enjoy them indoors as well as outdoors. Here's a couple of them. RE: What's in your garden? - cletus1 - 05-19-2014 I have planted about a third of my garden. I have almost enough veggie starts to finish it and I plan on getting more planted today. Greenleaf industries in GP increased the costs of their 4 pack starts to $1.50 each this year. When I first started buying at Greenleaf, 6 packs sold for 90 cents each. The following year they went to $1.00 per 4 pack, then to $1.25, now they are $1.50. What the hey? OK, that is still a good price, but I have a very big garden an will spend close to $200.00 for plants and fertilizer. I give lots of stuff away so this is not a profit deal. Enjoy your day. RE: What's in your garden? - Jeep - 05-19-2014 Did anyone else have a hard time finding a nice selection of peppers? We'll have 21 pepper plants this year but not a lot of different varieties. They have Jalapeño, Ancho, Cayenne, Serrano, Gypsy, Big Bertha Bells, Cal Wonder green and gold bells, Salsa peppers (a milder type of Jalapeño) and sweet banana. I have not seen Cherry Reds yet but they usually get some. The Grange usually has a decent variety too, but I try not to buy much there. You might also try the growers markets. Lilly's Chilies has a good variety of super hot peppers but they are very expensive. I don't buy much from them. They sell at the GP Growers Market. RE: What's in your garden? - tvguy - 05-29-2014 OK they weren't in my garden they were in my field. Purty eh? I could be a flowerist. I'm not sure if that's a vase or a wine giraffe RE: What's in your garden? - Tiamat - 05-29-2014 (05-29-2014, 05:16 PM)tvguy Wrote: OK they weren't in my garden they were in my field. Purty eh? RE: What's in your garden? - Tiamat - 05-29-2014 I've decided to try a tomatillo. I see them 'round the neighborhood, so they should be easy enough. I found out that you can eat them in the fall when they turn kind of purple they get real sweet and sticky. Once you grow them volunteers will pop up every year.
