I haven't watered the back yard for years...but can't rid myself of it. I've had the back yard covered in thick black plastic sheeting weighed down with rocks for at least 5 years. That seems to be have me winning battles but not the war. RE: What's in your garden? - Juniper - 05-27-2018 (05-27-2018, 01:24 PM)tvguy Wrote:Well, that's what I thought. But where I work we have some big trees and they are not doing too well. People who worked there before me say they think they are dying from lack of water, because it used to be a watered lawn but now it's just bark. They don't look healthy, that's for sure.(05-26-2018, 04:57 PM)Juniper Wrote:Big, but you knew that, right?(05-26-2018, 02:23 PM)tvguy Wrote:(05-26-2018, 01:59 PM)Juniper Wrote:Bug trees don't. But your soil NEVER dries out like my old river bottom. Your soil probably goes down at least 10 feet. My first thought was how environmentally insensitive if they were not. Anyway speaking of dog shit. I woke up this morning at 6:30 and our Cane Corso had diarrhea and had literally shit all over the house. In my wife's office all over the futon, in her bedroom, in the kitchen , in the dining room and in the living room. RE: What's in your garden? - tvguy - 05-30-2018 My bamboo is growing about a foot per day LOL I'm going to cross breed this with a pot plant May 25... almost 6 feet May 30..... 10 1/2 feet tall RE: What's in your garden? - Juniper - 05-30-2018 (05-30-2018, 02:33 PM)tvguy Wrote: My bamboo is growing about a foot per day LOL I'm going to cross breed this with a pot plant I know you like your bamboo. If that Bamboo does take over I will be as happy as a clam. If it invades my neighbor too bad he's a moron anyway and a lazy ass LOL.He has a whopping total of two trees. I have well over 100. RE: What's in your garden? - Cuzz - 07-31-2018 I planted a two gallon potted fig tree in my backyard last February. Much to my surprise about a dozen figs appeared this spring! Even better the deer seemed to leave them alone though they ate the apple tree I planted at the same time. Well, today I got four delicious figs from it. The deer got the rest. It looks like a couple dozen more figs are forming for the fall crop. Guess I'll have to build a fence around it. RE: What's in your garden? - Juniper - 07-31-2018 I didn't know deer liked figs...but they eat nearly everything. How's that spawn of Satan, TV, the bamboo? They just plucked the figs off and ate them. Anybody have a paintball gun I can borrow? RE: What's in your garden? - Valuesize - 07-31-2018 We planted our fig tree mid June 2017 and were surprised we got fruit also. Small, but the two we picked and tried were terrific. These photos are from this evening.
