RE: What's in your garden? - reelo - 06-23-2011 My tomatoes are starting to bloom (yay)-- here's hoping it's a better year then last year (with it's two whopping tomatoes). The radishes and beets seem to be flourishing, corn is coming up and the lettuce is looking more like an edible and less like a weed. It's looking promising. I saw your computer desk, is was so.... orderly you ought to see mine My garden isn't much. I just haven't had the time. I have some corn planted, tomatoes and some punkins that are going to be as big as a VW. RE: What's in your garden? - Scrapper - 06-26-2011 Wow! It's beautiful, Cletus! But it does look like a LOT of work. But I do LOVE salsa. But I'm really not THAT into gardening. But... oh... there was a sun halo today! I took a picture. All of the colors of the rainbow were there. It was beautiful. Okay, I think I'm done now. RE: What's in your garden? - tvguy - 06-26-2011 (06-26-2011, 05:19 PM)Scrapper Wrote: Wow! Yeah you're right just ask the guy Cletus hires to do it RE: What's in your garden? - tvguy - 06-26-2011 (06-26-2011, 05:19 PM)Scrapper Wrote: Wow! It's beautiful, Cletus! Okay, I think I'm done now. It was taken with my cell phone. Not very good quality, to say the least! It doesn't show all of the color. It really was beautiful. RE: What's in your garden? - PonderThis - 06-26-2011 Yes, but what does it look like after cataract surgery? Pretty cool thanks RE: What's in your garden? - illcommandante - 06-27-2011 I'm gonna' can all the salsa and tomatoes I can. And, that's not seventy plants worth. Not even close. But, I can find room for whatever a hundred potato plants delivers. RE: What's in your garden? - PonderThis - 06-27-2011 KVAL has done a story on these, and is calling them "sun dogs": http://www.kval.com/news/local/124566989.html "According to the National Weather Service, a sun dog occurs when refractions of sunlight pass through ice crystals. Sun dogs are "exclusively associated" with cirriform clouds." RE: What's in your garden? - Scrapper - 07-02-2011 WTH is in my garden? Farkin' squash slugs! That's what! Ugh. I have declared WAR on the fugly icky slimy monsters! RE: What's in your garden? - Valuesize - 07-02-2011 (07-02-2011, 10:52 AM)Scrapper Wrote: WTH is in my garden? Farkin' squash slugs! That's what! Ugh. I have declared WAR on the fugly icky slimy monsters! Are they like this? RE: What's in your garden? - PonderThis - 07-02-2011 I think they only attack Banana Squash. RE: What's in your garden? - Scrapper - 07-02-2011 They look kind of like that, except they're a deep burnt orange'ish color. Super small... like not even an inch long. They aren't touching anything other than my Patty Pan Squash and Zucchini Squash. I heard about putting out Beer Traps. I'm going to put a couple of them out this evening and hope that it works. Squash started growing right after Cain gave Able the hot-foot. Some people eat the bugs that eat the squash. I think this is what The Lord intended. Rotten squash is good to throw at politicians. Dried squash was used by Native American people as Christmas gifts to mother-in-laws. The ONLY way to eat squash (when absolutely necessary) is to drown it in butter and brown sugar. Eat the butter and brown sugar and throw the rest at a politician. That's all I know about squash. I know a lot about tree bark. Ask me sometime. |
