We have lots of smoke, here in Hugo/Merlin area, but I can't find any news on the fires. It's unnerving. Does anyone have any info?

The Cow Creek fire is over 500 acres and that is at the north end of Josephine County. Douglas county has many fires but not real big at this time.

There are no local threats at this time unless you are bothered by smoke. The smoke is expected to be around all day.

Well, partly it's just the nature of our valley. There are some fires burning but that doesn't mean they are even big. Was it last year or the year before that the smokiness in the valley was because of smoke from fires in Siberian forests. Seriously. Our valley + jet stream equals smoke trap.

Actually, as I sit here, (open door) I'm feeling it more and more. The air is heavy with it. I'm short of breath. My eyes are burning. I feel like I'm having to breathe deeper to get air.

Well, while the fire does interesting things to the light, I'd like it to lift.

Aside from the smoke, we have been seeing the tankers and helos with buckets flying all day yesterday and this morning, too. That would seem to indicate that something nearby is burning.

I used to only be able to remember 6. For some reason, I kept forgetting Bashful.
