My generic hens still try to lay but the eggs are very small.[Image: 20160409_164229%20Medium_zpslxr8ecu7.jpg]

Do brand name hens lay bigger eggs?  What makes big eggs?  Age? Breed? Feed?  I on the other hand have zero eggs!  I want to buy them farm fresh...you wouldn't believe the prices some people charge...I'm never motivated to go on a field trip just for eggs though.

Old chickens lay bigger eggs. Chicken feed ain't cheap. It cost more to produce farm fresh eggs, then they cost in the store.

People I know with chickens sometimes give me eggs free when their chickens start laying a lot. In the summer I sometimes barter for them with vegetables as trade. I am picky about eggs, I don't like the rich dark orange yoked eggs. And yes I have been told they are better. Don't care.

Hey Chuck, ever have a chicken lay an empty egg?

I've had yolk-less eggs. They were small like a robin egg, but just egg white.
I've had soft eggs. no shell, just a membrane.

What would prompt one to say "Good Eye Might"? A good eye might see it more clearly? Maybe. I doubt it.

A trip to the eye dr. "Hey doc, I think my good eye might be getting a cataract"

A pirate: "ahhrrrr, my good eye might need a patch soon"
