I guess I will take one back because using just one seems to be working well.

Why would you do that, sell it On Craigslist for $175  Wink Razz

Trust me. I thought about that Laughing

This air cleaner/purifier is pretty cool. It has a light bar that tells you how clean the air is. It goes from red to orange to blue when the air is clean.
Yesterday we had the door open to let the dogs in long enough to let smoky air in and the light turned orange.

I will be in Medford tomorrow, may have to stop there on way home and see if they still have any.
I would have sold you the extra one I had but someone beat you too it. Razz
Give Costco a call to see if they have any. That's what I did.

Right now the air is as bad or worse than it ever has been.

I was curious so I had a look at TV's link. Ordering online they ship for free in my area.

If Costco is out, Amazon has them.

Agreed, we live at the base of a prominent mountain, we can't see it. Not even a faint outline, nothing, zilch, nada.

The model we got at Costco for $140 was $165 on Amazon.

IF the AQI is correct, Medford has been sitting at 166 for the last 24 hours. I know I can't see Roxy Anne which is about two miles away.  It feels somewhat better though than yesterday.  I don't know if that's my imagination or not.
I'm confused.. 166? This says 500.

http://aqicn.org/city/usa/oregon/medford/

edit....Where did you get that 166 number. The MMT we got this morning said 185 but that was last night.I think the smoke has just blown back in.
Grants pass is 171.

Oh, I know. It's super confusing to just google it.  You get all sorts of different results. I use this one:  the Oregon DEQ air quality index.https://oraqi.deq.state.or.us/home/map

I like the one I posted a link to because it's updated.
But....it always reads hazardous.

I'm wondering what you're looking at...because that site always reads hazardous...am I not looking at the right thing?

I don't think you have looked at that site when the AQI was not hazardous. The site works because you can look at any other city and they don't all say 500. Grants pass for example is 214. There is a search bar you can check ANY city. Portland is at 42.

OK, I think I thought you were looking at something else. The one I see shows me each city. It doesn't always show Hazardous.  Your link does.  My link shows me the map and each cities reading updated. I think I am confused to what site you are looking at.

I guess I find that site confusing to use.  Too many clicks to get to my info. I am using the DEQ which currently shows Medford at a whopping 249!!!   I find that many sites show differing info, so that's very confusing.  Who is correct?  I'm using the DEQ and hoping they have their shit together.

I posted this as a question on FB and everyone's coming back with inconsistent and widely varying reading. OR DEQ AQI says 243 which in my books is off the charts. My new air purifier, in my bedroom shows in the blue, (good) but my eyes are burning and it's hard to breathe.

I say to heck with the numbers, I let my eyes decide, if you can't see the sky, the nearest mountain, your neighbors house, it is BAD air quality.

I don't understand that at all. When I click on the link it opens up with Medfords AQI. That's one click???
I can mouse over or click one time on any of the cities listed about and their AQI is shown on the screen

Medford..500

Grants Pass.. 178

Shady Cove..367

Applegate valley..173

Cave Junction...202

I'm using the DEQ and hoping they have their shit together.

It's updated every hour. I think it's the most accurate.. I guess.

Hey Juniper. I saw on FB where someone said the reason that one site ALWAYS has 500 is because the sensor is not working properly.

That makes sense to me Smiling

500 is the highest AQ rating goes. The air can get dirtier, but the needle pegs at 500.

I know that but I'm saying it's stuck at 500.. It's wrong. NONE of the other sites jive with this one

What sensor?  Is it some other sensor than the DEQ is using?  And if it was stuck then that's malfunctioning and why isn't it taken down as a source of info?
