It is. I think over the years I MAY have changed an opinion or two as I recall, but mostly I've gotten a better understanding of opposing views through social media. Those knowledge gains alone are worth the negatives you need to deal with.
More often I have shown people they were wrong about something than changing their opinion.

I find the people that repost shit without ever researching it (I mean, not even a 10 second Google search!) annoying as Hell. I will usually reply (with link) to show them that they're wrong. A few actually say thanks and are appreciative of the info. The staunch orange Kool-Aid slurpers are a whole different story though... dodge, weave, deflect or totally ignore.

Yes some people get offended when they are corrected. IMO I would rather be corrected than post some false BS.
What gets me is there are so many fools who post something that says share or like if you agree. And it's nothing but a ruse to get you to share or like.
The old ones fall for this continually.
