They're delaying the convention one day now: http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/repub...32084.html

Excerpt: "The events planned for the Republican National Convention on Monday will be postponed due to severe weather predictions near the conference's host city, Republican officials said Saturday.

"The Republican National Convention will convene on Monday August 27th and immediately recess until Tuesday afternoon, August 28th," said Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus in a statement Saturday. "After consulting with Governor Scott, NOAA and local emergency management officials, we are optimistic that we will begin an exciting, robust convention that will nominate the Romney-Ryan ticket."

Tropical Storm Isaac is expected to reach the Florida mainland early next week..."

Ponder,

Since the GOP is in disarray, with a party base that is the most radical in recent American history with some of the delegates believing President Obama was born in Kenya, is a socialist and a Muslim. A few doubt the theory of evolution, others say gays can be "cured", while still others want to force raped women to have their child and most want to do away with much of the federal government

So the carefully laid plans by the Plutocrats to portray the Romney/Ryan ticket as less crazed than GOP base, the most radical in modern history could very easily be upset by the party's lunatic fringe dominated by the anti-government Tea Party and socially conservative Evangelical Christians that over the years have forced the GOP to move closer to the cliff.

It will, of course be almost impossible for Romney and Ryan to pull off appealing to America's moderate republicans, Independents and woman that are needed to win, while appeasing a far right-wing base that doesn't really trust him.

This hurricane will probably be a blessing in disguise by making the convention shorter, if not postponed and keeping the infighting of the malcontent's out of the limelight.

But I am sure there will still be enough lunacy to provide to those yet undecided enough information to make a decision, intelligent or otherwise as the case may be.

I was wondering which one of you idiots would post something like this.

Now, on to the REAL topic of this hurricane. It is expected to be a cat 2-3 when it hits near New Orleans. That is where our focus of concern should be.

Why? What could you possibly care about New Orleans?

We'll see whether God hates New Orleans more than Republicans. I'm betting not. Smiling

As any real human would, I care about disasters and loss of life and terror. As any real human would, POLITICS is secondary to humanitarian causes.

As for your inference, fuck you. Smiling

Didn't one of the right-wing loonies say that NYC deserved what happened on 9/11 because of it's support of deviant lifestyles? I guess that same right-wing loony has crawled back under his rock and won't have anything to say about the descent of Isaac on the GOP convention. Cool

Hurricanes are caused by warm air mass. The convention might strengthen this baby up to a category V.

Most of you don't give us a list of who you follow, other than Fox News. Laughing

It wouldn't surprise me for Hillclimber, Simon, or OL either one though.

I'll think about that offer, only if you promise not to attend the dinner.
