Do you really want a new TV that's already been "on" for 10+ hours a day and 3,000,000 snotty people have rubbed their germs on it?

LEDs do get dimmer over time, about half their brightness in one to two years.

We just got new receivers so last month was the first time I ever saw it work in HD. Before that I was thinking it's life was starting to fade. But now with HD it's crystal freaking clear. What about all these LED brake lights or even traffic signals? are you saying they will all only be half as bright in 2 years?? That's a hard one to believe CW

The EPA reports that between Thanksgiving and New Years Day, families increase their household waste by 25% and add an extra million tons of waste per week to landfills. Gift wrap and shopping bags add four million tons of waste annually, much of which is produced and discarded in the coming months.

(Seriously, I'm not too lazy to wrap them...)

What the heck are they supposed to put in landfills if everyone was like you?

I loved hiding them away and putting them under the tree after they went to bed on Christmas Eve. It was especially eventful when it included large bright things such as bicycles or big wheels. But, yeah, wrapping gifts is stupid, really. At large family gatherings I've seen a literal pile of gift wrap and ribbons...then you have to carefully go through it in case a treasure is misplaced in there.

Exactly! ...and then of course when they were wee ones, they got distracted by the wrapping, ribbons and boxes...not noticing the nice toy that was wrapped in them. LOL!

My mother has sewn a number of cloth bags that she uses to wrap the presents. If we really like a bag, we keep it, otherwise she uses them all again the next year.
