Courthouse Documents

Do I have to pay to get access to filed documents, such as a will, or are they free to look at except for copy fees?
Any ideas?

I had a name change form that I needed a copy of recently. I believe there was a charge for pulling it up, and a charge per notarized copy.

But, pennies really. They aren't unreasonable charges.

Pennies I can handle. I didn't want it to be $50 or up.

No. My mother's estate is still unsettled after 3+ years and my sister still living in her house keeps making excuses. I want to see for myself what it says. (We never had a meeting at the attorney or anything.) my oldest sister, the doctor, is the executor. and she's married to a lawyer. The worst of all worlds.

That doesn't sound good, does it.

I figured my house at about a half a million, finished. Well actually her house. Since I gave it to her, to ease her fears. I figure my motorhome at about eight grand (Before I remodel). Then, a lot less. Ever feel a little cheated. BY a thief? With crooked law at her disposal.
