Quote:Josephine County Sheriff Gil Gilbertson was notified of the 1:55 a.m. shooting, but he had no deputies to send to the scene.

OSP detectives from the Central Point command office made the nearly 50-mile trip north on Interstate 5 to secure the crime scene at a residence on Coyote Creek Road. They were assisted by troopers from the Grants Pass field office.

If only he'd had a gun for self defense.

I could go out there and take some pics. Same as a deputy. In a county the size of Rhode Island, you can be in Pawtuket, when the call comes in. We're probably going to find out that bad guys were involved. Or, wimmin'.

So much good always comes about when people have guns. More people should have one. Or 50.

Maybe I wish he did have a gun. But, at best, that'd probably just double the count, in our favor. When, they could have hammered things out, with boulders. Feeling for lead, with a forcep, is a little artsy. Blunt force trauma, can have you picking the shards out of their brains. Maybe, poison tipped bullets?
