An internet question for experts
#1
My favorite weather site is NOAA, at http://forecast.weather.gov/ (where I can input my coordinates and get a customized weather prediction for my location). However, it hasn't been working for me lately, I thought maybe it was because of the sequester (I get an error message saying it can't find the server). My internet provider is Viastat, a satellite internet company.

However, a friend suggested trying a "proxy" server instead, something they often do (under the impression it adds to web privacy somehow, I think). Lo and behold, this weather site opens using the proxy server http://www.2proxy.de/ .

Can anyone tell me what's going on here, and should I be complaining to Viastat? I could maybe see them blocking this site if spam was originating from it somehow or something, but this is a government web site. Thanks for your ideas.

I went to the site and it worked for me. I go the wunderground.com/US because the information gathering box is half a mile away.

I've tried using wunderground, but my closest town is quite a bit different in elevation (and, snow amounts, etc.). I know that is an option though, thanks.

I clicked on the link and it redirected me to
http://www.weather.gov/

Try that link instead.

No, that one doesn't work either.

I emailed Viastat last night.

Maybe the Gov sites has shut you off.
Are you some kind of terrorist?

Do you have a filter, script blocking or some form of site blocking.
You might try a different browser
