From KAJO news
"The president of the Eagle Point School Board, Scott Grissom, introduced a motion to train and arm teachers at their Wednesday school board.
Grissom wants to establish a policy that would allow specific school employees to possess certain firearms on school property during school hours, at school sponsored or school sanctioned events and at board meetings.
The employees would be trained in firearm safety and receive extra compensation for their additional position expectations as well as liability insurance. The district has no policy regarding district employees carrying firearms.
Outgoing Board member Jim Mannenbach urged the board to consider applying for federal grants to fund the hiring of more school resource officers. It was pointed out hiring more safety resource officers was not fiscally viable at this time.
Grissom amended his original motion to direct the Superintendent to establish a committee to research the issue. It passed 4 to 1."

The students who get Fs will also be rewarded with free bullets, followed by a visit to the nurse.

This will be interesting to watch.
So many issues to be considered here. Considering the cost alone for a broke school district, I have to wonder what this board is thinking.

Perhaps the NRA will offer to partially fund the program and save the taxpayers a few bucks. Or the school district can just cut another teacher. Better ammunition than a mathematician, right?

Probably a little clearer than you I suspect!
Lock downs, security locks, video cameras, and waiting twenty minutes for police response or assembling a Swat might be examples of consideration.
Some members got of a look at Rogue River system and weren't impressed!
But since you want facts, call the district office, dare ya!

None of your blathering addresses the costs associated with arming staff, which is the issue I raised.
None of your blathering addresses arming staff in Eagle Point, which is the topic of the thread.
Focus.

Oh? You were at the Eagle Point meeting then? Read the meeting transcript or listen to the audio recording?
Did you talk to the district officials or any of the parents?
Guess not! As usual, you are talking out of your south end evacuation point and thinking area. Politely put!
I have relatives in the district who work and have direct ties to the issue.

And deflection, ever go to the Newport Rogue Nation on Saturday nites?
You would be great entertainment!

Yet, repeatedly dismissing what someone else says as "blathering" doesn't really allow for polite discourse, either.

And sticking your nose where it isn't welcome doesn't show very high moral character. Unless you're a crotch sniffing dog.
Anything to add towards the topic, or just off topic stalking as usual?

I'm subtly telling you, you're attacking posters in a personal way here, and that seems to be something you like to do. It's not unnoticed.
