It's suggested (strongly) by science that on this go around the change we suspect is happening is caused BY WHAT MANKIND IS DOING!. They don't think that was the case, ever, in the past. We are buring lots of carbon fuels that are almost certainly warming the planet.
But, burning carbon this week is not going to change the weather this week. Extreme weather happened long before we started buring carbon.
It's reported now that scientists world wide think the climate is changing and it's changing due to mankinds activities. But it's tricky...because some places on the globe are actually cooler or wetter, some hotter and dryer, and everything in between.
Mankind as altered local climate many times in the past. Cutting down trees in South America leads to less rain fall around the area the trees were cut. That caused the fall of the Incas and Aztecs. We took CO2 levels from 300 to 400 in a hundred years. The population of the earth has more than doubled in my life. The percentage of the worlds population wanting modern technology and the resource requirement per person is increasing. We are tipping the balance of nature with a hammer. Nature will always seek to balance back out with a force equal to the amount of the 'unbalance'.
Eventually the environment will be so hostile, that world populations will decline.
But, such as the nature of things.
