Damn! I was hoping to put some seed in the ground today. Not much point if we get a heavy rain that will just wash it out again.
Hoping for two dry days very soon.
What kind of seeds? It's pretty early. Can you plant in containers and transplant later?
Yeah I hear you. Every year I have to wait for the ground to dry out to plant anything. Now I have a tractor and until it stops raining so much I can't drive on most of my property.
Peas, onion seed, chard, spinach, maybe radish too. Last year it got too warm too soon and I didn't get much or any of these so I thought I'd put some out earlier. I have lots of seed so I can always replant if I need to.
I've started tomatoes, tomatillos, peppers and some herbs in pots inside. I'll plant cukes and squash later outside.
With all the snow we've gotten this year I'm hoping for a good low smoke summer. (fingers crossed)
I'm still learning how this all works. Since I retired I consider this my new job... farming the back yard!
