Beware of Mad Dogs and Englishmen, especially if they Have A lIttle Help From Their Frinds who insist You Are So Beautiful (to me).
So many of the talents from "the day" now in the ground.
Joe Cocker is dead. Long live Joe Cocker.
I have a Joe Cocker story. I worked for a public utility company in San Franciso and got a call one afternoon about 1:00 PM to respond to a "complete 200" (no lights) at a flat in North Beach. Found a short in a electric kettle in the kitchen. Bunch of folks just getting up for coffee and Joe Cocker was wandering around in his underwear. Only later realized it was he. (Looks better on stage!...I guess: I never did see him "live" except in his skivvies.
And the jokes on me: I can't for the life of me remember what year it was. Had to be '68 or '69.
Cool story. I never saw him in concert either. I like his distinct voice and I think he does this Eric Burden song justice.
Ever since I saw him in his skivvies.
