I came across this picture today and thought "Why would you cut the end of the guitar off?" My guess is because he's a lefty playing a righty and wanted that portion out of the way? I don't know anything about guitars or instruments in general. What are your thoughts?
Yeah that's a right handed telecaster he's playing upside down. I think he cut part of it off so he could access the frets a little easier high up on the guitar neck
See how the cutaway on this guitar allows the players hand to reach the highest notes.
I'll take your word for it. I tried to learn to play the guitar once. I learned three cords. That's the good news. The bad news is that it took me 3 minutes to change from one cord to the other.
I admire and envy those of you who can play stringed instruments. There must be real joy in MAKING music. I know the joy of listening, but to make music would be a great gift.
Bye the by, I really don't understand what you have explained. Any way you can describe that so a real dummy can understand it or would you need video?
See where Bruce's left hand is? If the guitar was upside down he would not be able to slide his hand as far up the neck.
That why what the call the "cutaway" is there.
