Music
He was one of the first singer/songwriters who performed his own music.
Pretty much suffered the same fate as Ricky Nelson, who people also pigeonholed as an oldies act.

Well, to be fair, Shannon only has about a dozen songs that he composed himself.  Unless I'm wrong about that.  He was vocalist and performer, not a prolific song writer.

It was Lynne who really created the connection with Orbison. By the time the video was shot for It's all right, Obison had already passed and is represented by his guitar in the rocking chair.  Now the only one left of the main 4 is Dylan.

Yep

Well, Jeff Lynne is still alive so it's 5 really, with Lynne and Dylan still here.  You can hardly hear Lynnes Brummie accent.  Less apparent than Harrison's Scouse.

And yet Keith Richards is alive and still rocking Razz

In the comments, an explanation for the Beatlesque sound of ELO/Jeff Lynne.
The Move could be more properly considered the Beatles’ contemporaries, they just never had a hit in the USA.
Though others, Cheap Trick, for instance,
had hits with their songs.

As I said, I don't think of them as Beatlesque. To me, ELO had its own unique sound. Calling them contemporaries would be more accurate, although their peak came after the break up of the Beatles. They really began as ELO in '70, the same year the Beatles broke up. But they definitely were influenced by them and were open about the fact that they wanted to pick up where the Beatles had left off as far as blending orchestral sounds with rock sounds.

I’m posting for my own amusement +
trying to figure out why this forum doesn’t share the content, only the link.
Keep trying to come in from different directions.
