Edit: USGS is calling it 6.1, Tsunami center is calling it 7.0 and news reports have it at 6.1. Unsure They'll get it straightened out soon.....

There is a train that slowly rumbles by and if I had felt anything I would have dismissed it as that old train.

USGS just corrected to 6.9. There was a 5.8 off the coast Oaxaca Mexico earlier. Maybe Oregon or Washington is next? Twitch

Could be. We are very under prepared as a State. So many unreinforced brick buildings and buildings that are not earthquake standards.. Fortunately, we don't have many tall buildings.

Of course it's not just buildings, it's dams and bridges and roads, and tsunamis.

I did feel the earth move, but that was earlier in the day. I was driving at the time and thought I felt a bump in the road. All the bridges were still up, so I'm still expectant of the Big One.

What time was this? The chart is confusing me. An hour or so ago? The dog slept through it. I thought dogs were more sensitive. He was snoozing by the heater.
