What time was this? The chart is confusing me. An hour or so ago? The dog slept through it. I thought dogs were more sensitive. He was snoozing by the heater.

10:18 this evening.

I think the cat was trying to go out. But she saw the rain and that stopped her. Obviously they aren't working as an early warning system.Rolling Eyes

My earth was moving earlier than that. Guess I didn't feel much geologically speaking.

Why would they give the time of an earthquake in California, in the time zone of Zulu Africa?

Tiamat, animals are VERY in tune but the earthquake's epicenter needs to be relatively close. Prior to the Whittier Narrows quake in 1987 our two dogs lost their minds about 5-10 minutes prior to the quake. We were about 10 miles from the epicenter of Rosemead.

Well, if folks in Shady Cove are feeling it, I'd have to ask for the definition of 'relatively close.'

It could have a lot to do with how your house or foundation was built.Or the kind of soil or rock in your area. If you have a window or something that rattles that clues you in so you pay more attention.

Also I would bet money that if you sent out a FALSE report of an earth quake happening there would be an unbelievable amount of people who claimed they felt it.

like when HoneyhalfWitch reports that Mexico had a 6.3 and KadyLady says 'We felt it here, near Hugo/Merlin.'

Yep. That's true. What would be more convincing would be, if in the What are you doing right now thread, every person who felt it would post it at the moment they felt it. Of course, most people aren't always on line.
