Anybody here cold brew their coffee? It tastes amazingly better than freshly brewed.

It's also cool to hear from anyone about their frugal approaches to meals and prep. I like to hear them at any rate.

I just got back from 4 days in San Diego and boy did I get tired of restaurant food. I brought along toasted almonds and dried apricots for breakfast, so only ate out for a late lunch/early dinner. Dinner tonight was a over sized bowl of steamed veggies and noodles.........lite on the salt. No place like home.

Ain't that the truth. Restaurant food gets really old, really fast.

The only meal I truly enjoyed was the Lotus Cafe
http://www.lotuscafeandjuicebar.com/ and that was because it was just my mom and me. The next day the rest of the family showed up and it was fast food after that. YUCK

No. We stayed close to the MCRD and the last day was spent at Sea World. Fish tacos does sound good.

I've never figured out if fish tacos are just hype, because I've never had any I liked.

Have you tried them blackened with cajun spice?

Nope. I doubt I'll ever make them at home. I only make fish at home occasionally.

That place at Stewart and Columbus had the best. They were marinated and were filets, not deep fried chunks.

They are not there anymore. Last ones I tried were not fried, they were from El Gallo on Oakdale. It was fresh fish (or frozen fresh) not fried.

Baked some Pecan Sandies for my nephew today. He's on leave after completing Marine Boot Camp.
