Sarsaparilla is not sassafras....but I digress
Get yourself some sarsaparilla soda here
Or this is sold everywhere
I guess you lost the point of where this started. Real Sasparilla and Rootbeer used to be made with sasparilla root. What you get now that is called Sasparilla is not made with the original sassafras root. So, essentially it is "imitation" sasparilla.
I didn't lose the point....Sarsaparilla and Sassafras are two totally different plants. Root Beer, etc used to be made with one or the other, or a combo thereof depending on the brew. You can still get drinks made with Sarsaparilla, you cannot get drinks made with Sassafras.
Edit: and yes, I do understand in "the old days" sarsaparilla was made with sassafras, I get that.....

I doubt it's "OK", but there is info available to suggest it's hallucinogenic

Thanks...but the Sarssaparilla isn't really like the stuff you used to be able to get. The reviews say it's good though.

Sorry, I wouldn't know. I've always been curious what it tastes like but I've never had the opportunity.

So, what other "brews" should we discuss?

Happy National Coffee Day!
I've been drinking store bought all week. Yuk! Today I will roast some Ethiopian decaf for my wife and some really nice Brazilian I bought a couple of months ago. It's going to be painful and I may need to take a break to put my foot up between batches, but I NEED some good coffee.

I had French Press Coffee a few months ago in a small cafe and HOLY COW was it good. I had forgotten how tasty it can be. Oh, also served with real half/half.

That fact that it was good had more to do with quality of the coffee bean and a good roast of the bean than the fact it was made in a French Press. Any brew method that makes a single cup (or two) just prior to drinking is much better than a drip coffee maker.

Well my $9.99 Harbor Fright heat gun went up in a puff of smoke yesterday. I bought it back in March or April so I feel I got my monies worth considering I abused it by running it 15 to 30 minutes continuously a few times a month.
I bought what feels like a more durable model for $39.99 and it did a much better job on the beans and it's not made of plastic so it didn't start to melt like the old one.
