What experience did the great Obanga have?

Not enough. A bright young man with a very good education and some valuable experience "down at the street level", I think his lack of executive experience has been a problem during his years in the white house.

And yet, I think he brought a sense of considered judgement and the ability to gather and process information that is remarkable. Often criticized because he failed to act, I admire him for his caution to not wade into problems that the previous administration was so eager to do. ISIS is raging unmolested in the middle east and it's a tragic event. Yet, I'm thankful this president has not wasted young American lives by inserting them into what is a complex hopeless quagmire.

This president has made a lot of mistakes and lack of executive leadership is without a doubt one. He has done of lot of things to help advance programs we need and for that I think he will be remembered as effective.

I question his "effectiveness" on the subject of the "programs".

If you consider it a "success" to have MORE people on welfare and food stamps a success, they I admit you are correct.

If you define success by more people being OFF of welfare and OFF food stamps, then he is an abject failure.  HOWEVER.... if you need more people on the government dole to further your socialist agenda, then again, I agree, he has been successful.

Your obsession with food stamps and other programs that help the poor, all while you ignore the huge government subsidies to wealthy farmers and other industries that don't need the money is what makes you a shallow minded fool. You are either too stupid to not see the very costly "socialism" that our government approves of that really is an outrage or you just don't care because you are obsessed with the fat chick in line at the grocery in front of you that just used the Oregon Trail card.

I think we have all heard that stuff before Hugo. But unless you know of a parallel universe where a republican was elected instead of Obama and we could see who's on welfare and food stamps in that presidency then you really aren't saying shit. No offense but can't you see my point?
I'm really tired of hearing how bad off we are UNDER OBAMA. Because that clearly implies this derecession (depression and recession) somehow was all Barry's doing.

I'm just not buying that and I don't care how right wing one is it's just silly to hang your hat on that logic.

It's also pretty silly to constantly harp about welfare or food stamps when that such a small slice of the pie that's being devoured.

Well the fat chick buying candy bars is the poster child of the right wingers that they want us to think about when the mom buys groceries using the Oregon Trail card.

It's not just candy bars, it's steak, lobster, energy drinks, chips. I don't know how right winger haters can drive a cart safely with their heads stuck in everyone elses cart.

Well, I'm sure you are right. You most always are. (No, not sarcasm. You're opinions are often good, fact based, and well stated. Then you want to argue about it.  Laughing Laughing Laughing

But really...

I have an acquaintance I used to do volunteer work with at the Human Society who can't drive because he has had way too many DUI's. Not a bad guy otherwise, but an immigrant from Mexico (with green card) he got hit hard when the economy crashed and has not had a real job in a couple of years. I help him out a bit when he needs it. (For instance: He has 3 large dogs and his dog food bill alone is about 30 bucks a month. I know, because I pay for it...and while I love his dogs and want them to have a healthy diet, he COULD give the dogs up. I mean, times are hard for him and sometimes sacrifices have to be made. He WON'T let them be adopted..won't even discuss it!)
So, twice I month I pick him up and we drive to Food-for-less to shop. I gotta tell you it DOES bother me a bit to see all the stuff he buys that is processed, treats, etc. I think the "food stamp" program is a good one and I support it, but I think that it should be used for meat, veggies, fruit, and all the other stuff that most of us eat.

But, I guess when your life is hard and nothing is working out for you, some ice cream and cookies, and other "feel-good" foods are more important that the needs most of us have.

I don't know if my point(s) here make real sense or not. Mostly I guess I have to admit it's just a knee jerk reaction, but it's a reaction I have and it flares up from time to time. I guess I should be more tolerant and count my own blessings.

These things are "sticky" and not always easy to see clearly. Sorry for the long rant, but wanted to add it to the mix for what its worth.

NOW, TVG, you can start the argument.  Razz Razz Razz

Yeah, proving I don't have a life. I do shower once a week and that takes time, and I have to go to the front porch every morning for the paper but other than that have few real duties. So, I beat on the keyboard of this machine trying to see how many lines I can publish without really saying anything. I think I'm getting better at it all the time. Hey, it's free after all.
And yes, TVg has been trying to educate me for years. My 5th grade teacher could have told him it's a waste of time.

But Clete, I think I'm going to enroll in a class for writing skills so I can find a way to entertain you. Maybe I'll develop some ability to write travel things.

But right now I have to see if the water is hot: I think it's my day to shower. (Mrs. Wonky has been avoiding me more than usual).

I was at the Laughing Clam in GP last Friday and ended up sharing a table with 3 serious Trump supporters and another guy that said he was uncommitted. He was probably a liberal and decided to keep quiet. I, on the other hand pretended to like Trump. I had a great time.  Big Grin

I came away from there thinking that one big reason Trump has the support that he does is that Donald Trump is hateful asshole just like they are. IMO, being a phony Trump supporter got them to open up and talk candidly. They shared their hate for Obama, Hillary, Mexicans, liberals and they thought all the demeaning comments Trump made about women were hilarious. I think Trump has the hater vote all wrapped up.

I think a bumper sticker is in order. How about Another Hate Filled Chump For Trump?
