It's snowing where live in GP.

I have to go out and do a few things today in the snow. Really, I'm not just going out just to play in it.  Smiling

Enjoy your day everyone.

Validation needed. Looks like slush.  Razz

Hayes Hill is most likely higher than wherever you are and it's 32.7 at 9:10 am.

Lucky you! I've lived here going on ten years and haven't got a white Christmas. Looks wonderful!  Big Grin They are calling for possible snow but it's 38 right now.

What elevation are you? 1300?

Wow! My house is only 100 feet higher in elevation if that than downtown GP. I think the snow is hit or miss more from where the precipitation is falling.

You can use Google earth to find the exact elevation for your house. Mine is 1239 ft. It's extremely accurate I have drainage pipes to route the water away from my house to the lowest spot on my property and sure as hell Google earth shows it to be one foot lower.

I didn't realize GP was so mush lower in elevations. The river in GP is at about 900'

That would be the low spot, everything else is uphill.

Oh yeah, that would explain the puzzle as to why there is water in the river Razz

Google map had gotten so good I haven't bothered visiting GE. That's cool that it tells the elevation wherever your cursor is.  Thumbs Up

Yeah. My neighborhood has very poor drainage ditches because the roads are not county owned. It's awesome that I can look all around where I live and see the elevation difference that I basically knew anyway because I've seen the worst flooding.
Many of the people who live here haven't actually seen what happens when the ground gets saturated and it keeps on raining. It really hasn't happened in like 20 years and now it's happening again.
I maintain the road in front of my house like I have for years. I've hauled and shoveled countless truckloads of gravel.
Just a couple weeks one neighbor right across from me added a different driveway to his property and didn't bother to put a culvert in. The other neighbor across from me and his idiot friends drove over and crushed or buried their culvert.
So now with all this rain the water is crossing and washing out the road in two places. On top of that the morons out here can't seem to understand that driving too fast through the water and puddles will ruin the road.
