Old chickens lay bigger eggs. Chicken feed ain't cheap. It cost more to produce farm fresh eggs, then they cost in the store. People I know with chickens sometimes give me eggs free when their chickens start laying a lot. In the summer I sometimes barter for them with vegetables as trade. I am picky about eggs, I don't like the rich dark orange yoked eggs. And yes I have been told they are better. Don't care. Hey Chuck, ever have a chicken lay an empty egg?

They were small like a robin egg, but just egg white. I've had soft eggs. no shell, just a membrane.

How about the opposite?
