I'm wonderering why. And, wondering if the few of us remaining would like to post at least three reasons we suspect the forum membership drying up.
I'll start.
- The loss of continuity in posted Topics..."jumping the tracks" to divert attention away from the Topic being discussed.
- Vitriolic, vulgar, and personal attacks.
- Extreme polarization in expressing political/social views.
I think one reason you don't really "get it" is that you aren't on Facebook. If you were, you would see that all of the above happen all the time. It doesn't stop FB; it continues chugging along with all the above characteristics. I'm not saying saying you should be on FB. In fact I think FB is kind of a dumbing down of the internet discussion forum. But it is what it is and it's taken over and these kind of forums are a dying breed. Like a print newspaper. Or a landline. Out of date and fast becoming archaic. Okay. Would you please point me to a discussion you find interesting on FB. I admit I have not spent much time there but all I see are exchanges that seem like "chat". I understand your reluctance to join FB. In order to have any meaningful conversations, you have to have "friends". So again, knowing you, I get it.
You don't have to have friends on any particular Facebook site any more than you had to be friends with anyone here.
It's just that having friends builds your links to groups and discussions. Sometimes. But, yeah, you can be completely "friend free" if you like.

I love this one: Someone asking for help with their house electric panel. Local. They'll probably get the help too.

Yeah but all too often they get someone who only knows enough to be dangerous. Some of the worst . most dangerous wiring I've seen was in churches done by volunteers.

Well, it's just extremely local chat with a good dose of moderation. No drama and everything just about the neighborhood.

I see the problem. Some wires are bending left and some are bending right.
Also wouldn't it look nicer, if the wire alternated in color, (black white black white), instead of all bunched together like segregated class rooms.

Looks fine to me. Elect in, elect out: What more can you ask for? I bet this don't even start a fire for at least another month or so. Some folks just won't settle for anything less than perfect.

When Bill Myer on KMED has Dale Matthews on, they act like people actually respect his opinion, instead of being the buffoon he is.
I looked at his stupid Bad County youtube thingy, and I realize no one in JoCo respects him either.Views in the dozens, not thousands.

I'm surprised you listen to KMED. I'm not surprised that you HAVE, but that you do.
But hey, I guess somebody should, if just to know "what they are up to".
Bye the way, do you ever catch "Jefferson Exchange" on our local PBS radio? Sometimes very good interviews, sometimes not so much, but at least not ranting nonsense.
OMG! I mentioned PBS. At least two of our members are in ICU being treated for extreme high blood pressure

I think this would fall under Sun Tzu's philosophy of "Know thy enemy...."
