We have a (secret) €Wonky 1 2 3 ¤ betting pool, run by Pete Rose.
Right now, TV is in the lead, followed by scrapper and cuzz. Tiuniper, Cletus, and I are lagging.

Have at it Barbie. Just remember you live in a glass house.

I don't know if I see birthdays as "kind of sucky" but have always been curious why we give them so much attention. I mean, EVERYONE has one. I can understand families honoring a members day of birth but past that I think it's a bit overdone.
I wonder if it harkens back to the day when so many babies and children died before reaching adulthood?  Each year then must have had more meaning and warranted a celebration. Only guessing. (I guess a lot)
Whatever, it's a tradition and we honor it. And Hallmark Cards thank us!  Smiling

Yeah I know it's your opinion but Jesus H Christ Razz

Go outside, get some sun, play with your dog, knock some rust off some of your junk, listen to some Black Sabbath, but above all try to get your head straight and not be so damn negative.

That's funny., you basically bitch about people celebrating birthdays and I'm the negative one?

Oh, come now, TV, Wonky's hardly bitching about birthdays.  He was just musing. Myself, I think people like to find ways to celebrate being people. As for myself, I got more "virtual" birthday attention (meaning online) than in real life.

Many folks nearing time to retire won't be able to get SS retirement at 62 any longer. Birthday thing, and some will have to wait until 62 and a half, then 63, and so on. Whatever...I'm older than most rocks so I elected to take mine at 62 and never regretted it.
If I wasn't so lazy I'd post the SS chart.
Actually, I don't care all that much.
Good luck young people.  Wink

I think you are wrong. I think anyone can still retire at 62. It's the full retirement benefits at 65 that is changing depending on when you were born.

"If you claim at age 62, then up until age 78 you will have earned more in total benefits than you could have by claiming at age 66. And only when you reach age 81 does claiming at age 70 net you more in lifetime benefits than claiming at age 62."

I say get it at 62. One thing no one considers when they decide on taking the early 62 retirement is what I do.
I use the money to make more money. Wink

Yep. Wrong once more. Just blowing stuff out my butt again. Hey, I just keep posting facts and sooner or later SOMETHING is bound to be right.
Bye the way, a bee can't sting you if you keep one fist closed.
And when women say no, they REALLY mean yes.

If my quick math was right, I need about 200 months to break even, so if I live past 80, better to wait.
On the other hand, there may not be a SS if I wait that long.
Get out of the Ponzi scheme early.
