The wind makes me nervous....I think I'll park my car on the street.

Quote:HURRICANE warning flags in Brookings. Hurricane. Let it sink in. I have never seen those on our Coastline before. Not ever.

Anybody still want to say this is being blown out of proportion now?

The US Coast Guard does not play pranks and they do not overhype a thing.

Double flags are displayed for winds 74 + mph which is the point they have become hurricane force, albeit category 1, hurricane or no hurricane. Double flags must have been displayed many times on our coast. Whether someone noticed or not is another matter.  Razz

At this point we've seen more HEAVY rain than wind where I am and I live on a VERY steep mountainside so don't have to worry about standing water.  Smiling

What about mudslides? My daughter's best friend lost her parents in the mudslide in Umpqua, Oregon in November '96.

It's a urban mountain covered with homes and roads with little mud to worry about.  Sad

I curious to know WHO said that?  Because I'm starting to think they were right about the high wind predictions for the Rogue Valley.

That's a nice FB site. You get to hear what people are seeing  from ALL over. It appears the storm is headed toward the Valley based on people talking about winds in Merlin.

I don't know the person. I don't follow the site. I just happened to see a friend's post from the site. I'll guess that if he's a friend of yours, he'd never be a friend of mine. But... I actually have friends that are Duck fans. Eeew!

Theoretically I like storms but when trees and branches start falling, I get nervous.
