First of all, if want to "Support The Troops" do something. See what the local National Guard families need...many live on the margins while the spouse is away. Vist a VA hospital and make a personal relationship with a wounded Vet who mght need some company and maybe money for personal things. Write to our two Democratic Senators and let them know many of our VA facilities stink...literally. 

And Democrats who demonstrate "when all else fails" are not "whinning losers". It would take grievous acts of the government to get me out on the streets, but I can envision is happening. And Trump and his administration might just be the bunch to make things so intolerable that demonstrations are necessary. Let's hope not.

LOL cool your jets Wonky of course doing the things you mentioned are better than a bumper sticker.
My point was a bumper sticker doesn't mean one is a hypocrite if they DON'T do any of those things.
It's just a suggestion to others.

It's already happened for Christs sake. And yeah protesting who won an election is exactly whining.

ONCE AGAIN you miss the point. Mr. Trump WON the election and because I believe in our constitutional government I would NEVER demonstrate against his having won the election. It wasn't rigged...he won it, and did it without the popular vote. 

The protest I'm guessing Clete is talking about is the ACTION this Trump administration is going to take. He may well gut our institutions and screw up our foreign policy beyond repair. If and when that starts actually happening someone better be standing up saying, "You have to go through us to get THAT done". Letters to congress won't help at that point...the congress you will be addressing will be one with Trump at it's head. 

We didn't get a 40 hour work week by pleading with our bosses.

I think You simply don't know when you are and how often you come off as condescending so I won't say what first comes to mind.

You did miss the point. Neither I nor Clete suggested protesting the election. We agree: He won. It would threaten the constitution to protest the result. 

We do, however, intend to protest the actions we are sure he will propose. The conversation is how that should be done.
