Someone would have started a thread on the new health care plan put forth. Perhaps when some of you have finished examining it you'll start one. Or when some of you are told what to think and say about it YOU'LL start one also.
BTW, this is not a health care thread.

To what end? It's going to go through about 100 versions before it becomes law. If ever.

I pay 143 bucks a month for my insurance now. It's not free since I turned 65.

You're a lucky guy.
I pay about five times that much for my "supplemental" plan from the people I used to work for (for wife and me). However, that includes a very good prescription plan.
I'm afraid this is going to get sticky soon, as the GOP are going to start hacking away at it. They claim they won't mess with Medicare but I don't trust them. Whatever: I could pay a higher co-pay and not suffer a bit. If millions of us did, it might reduce the cost of the program. I'd hope they would means test it so those who must live on only SS retirement would not have to pay additional co-pay.
It would have been so easy to plug the holes in the ACA. But, the GOP is going to gut the program if they can. What they didn't count on was all the flack they are getting from their fellow Republicans.
This could drag on for a long time.

I just read up on it some a few hours ago. it does away with the penalty, that's all I need to know, pass that bastard. ( I have other feelings about the plan, and I think the republicans are gutless turds, but no penalty so at least they got that right.)

That was kind of my point. Any opportunity will be taken advantage of.

Hey, ya think if we had more doctors and nurse, prices would drop.
We take all those fast food workers, replace them with robots. Then we train them to be doctors and nurses.
McDonald's Fast Med drive through
(And give them $15 an hour)

Oh, they will!
But for the privileged it won't matter.
And that's the WHOLE story.
