Happy Asteroid Day

Yep...they are out there. Millions of them. Mostly they are flying right on by but once in a blue moon one gets pushed out of it's orbit by Jupiter and comes blasting our way.

A rather small one did just that in Russia in 1908 and again in 2013. Scared the hell out of a bunch of Russky's in the east.

Some millions of years ago (?) one did just that, hit our globe and wiped out the dinosaurs. Good thing: Cause we simply could not compete with the big ugly things, all teeth, claws, and tails that would wipe out Los Angeles. (Not a bad idea, really). If that thing had not hit us and raised a dust cloud so big, long lasting, and dense that it wiped out the veggies the Big Ugly Things eat, we would still be furry animals living in holes in the ground.

So Happy Asteroid Day. They did us a solid. So someday when we are watching BETTER CALL SAUL, another will hit.

So eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow...

Asteroid Day (also known as International Asteroid Day) is an annual global event that aims to raise awareness about asteroids and what can be done to protect the Earth, its families, communities, and future generations. Asteroid Day is held on the anniversary of the June 30, 1908 Siberian Tunguska event, the most harmful known asteroid-related event on Earth in recent history.[1][2] The United Nations has proclaimed that Asteroid Day will be observed globally on June 30 every year in its resolution.[3][4]

It was co-founded by filmmaker Grigorij RichtersB612 Foundation COO Danica Remy, Apollo 9 astronaut Rusty Schweickart and Brian MayQueenguitarist and astrophysicist.[5] Over 200 astronauts, scientists, technologists and artists, including Richard DawkinsBill NyePeter GabrielJim Lovell, Apollo 11 Astronaut Michael Collins, Alexei LeonovBill AndersKip Thorne, Lord Martin ReesChris HadfieldRusty Schweickart and Brian Cox co-signed the Asteroid Day Declaration.[6][7][8]Asteroid Day was officially launched on December 3, 2014.[9]

You bet. You can also use it to tighten the skin around your eyes. But, it's really not very good on ice cream.
