On the bright side, instead of lighting a match after taking a dump. I just open the window for a few seconds.

Yes the AC just cools the air but if you have it set properly it cools the air that is already in your house and doesn't pull smokey air in from outside.
Just like the AC in your car. If you don't have it set to "recirculate" is sucks when you are driving by the sewer plant or stuck in traffic with diesels.

And you don't "NEED" an Ionizer you can just get an air purifier with a HEPA filter.
The Ionizer might be better, not sure.

I do believe after thinking about this I will go buy me an air purifier for my wife's sake.
