Did you have to give them personal data to find out?
I wouldn't trust those guys with personal data. They probably have a virus that sends the personal info from people checking, to Russian hackers.
I know, it was probably stupid. But it was only last name and last 6 of social, so I rolled the dice. I posted the link somewhere in this thread.

Hubs and I both came up as possibly affected. What do they propose to do about it? Offer some free credit watch BS. We're already with LifeLock. So, I guess that's that.

I use this. It sends me an email anytime there is ANY activity whatsoever, even if it's just me checking my credit score or Amex sending me a new card. So far, so good.

WTF is your problem lately? You are the one here who didn't contribute anything.
I don't have a problem. Was curious why VS thought anyone might want to know a company he worked for paid for the computer program. Kind of like saying nothing for no reason.
Whatever: No harm, no foul.
And what do you mean I didn't contribute anything? I STARTED this topic and added comments.

Perhaps I should have said MINE was free for a year. I don't know if either one of you scrolled down a bit on the link I provided, but there are choices of coverage and prices there. Certainly wouldn't hurt try try the first two free months.

Might be worth it: Maybe read this:
http://clark.com/protect-your-identity/l...it-freeze/
LifeLock is a company I am asked about regularly. They are a heavy advertiser on both the web and radio. Yet while they’re a legitimate business, they’re also one of the most overhyped services out there. They sell into the fear about you having your identity stolen.
Identity theft is a real problem. The odds that you’ll have your identity stolen are around 1 in 15 during a given year. So LifeLock has done a great job making you feel safe if you pay them money. Their service starts at $10 monthly or $109 annually.
Yet the company got in trouble about 5 years ago for deceptive advertising and having done, ironically enough, a poor job protecting the info they had on you. They entered into a settlement with the states and the feds and restitution followed.
Recently, they reached a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission that will see them pay up to $116 million in fines and penalties.
Want more meaningful protection from identity theft than LifeLock has to offer? Do a credit freeze. You’ll pay zero to $10 per bureau, depending on your state. This will shut a criminal down cold when they try to apply for new lines of credit in your name.
And if you still do want credit monitoring, get it for free through CreditKarma.com.

He said his company paid for it because that's WHY he didn't know the price right off hand DUH!!!
And the part I meant that was the only post that contributed nothing was your stupid question.

No you explained it fine. I knew you meant yours was free.
And yes I did scroll down and I saw the free trials but I missed the part that said either 10 or 20 bucks a month after the free part. So I thought it would be easier to ask you.

I don't worry about this here breach,. When people apply for credit for Chuck White, all kind of bill collectors show up at their door.
