Music Playlists
#1
We all have music CD's, right? And most of us never use them unless it's in our trucks or whatever.

Now, we make play lists from our favorite music provider.

So here's the thing. I was wondering if I could make just ONE perfect playlist from the music I listen to. I want to allow 10 songs on the playlist. (Why 10? Follow along please)

I've started weeding them out. I think I'm gonna go crazy. I don't think it can be done. But, someday, as sure as God made little green apples, I'm gonna croak. Kick the bucket. Pass. Go to my reward (Like THAT will happen  Wink ) .
And, providing at least three people show up for the obligatory event my daughter will insist on, I don't want some blabbermouth ranting on about all my failures. For one thing, there would not be enough time to cover them all.
So...
All I want while my daughter and the other two stand in remembrance is some music that says something about me. Now, I know they won't stand still for long but maybe they will tolerate 10. I want the 10 to be cuts that have slipped into my soul, have made me drink that one more beer, have lifted me higher than the angels, have been with me after she broke my heart, and that music that opened me up to visions I had never dared dream about.

10.

I swear, I don't think it's possible.

But I do have #1.

You know, GP, I REALLY struggled with this decision! Kept me up half the night. But in the end I finally decided to not include it. Still, proves you have a really good handle on my personality.  Laughing

Yes, it is downright morbid, sad, and tragic. Says something about me I guess.  Wink . I don't listen to a lot of "Classical" or symphonic music and admit the first time I heard this was watching the movie "Platoon". It really grabbed my attention. I also really like Gershwin's "Rhapsody In Blue", another contemporary symphonic piece. I do have a "classical" playlist but it holds my attention for about 20 minutes and then I return to the stuff I was listening to 30 years ago. Never learned to entertain listening to radio to pick up new sounds.

Never understood the concept of a playlist. I mean, how do I know what I want to listen to until I want to listen to it? Besides I like the surprise of a good song coming on at just the right time.

I guess if this is for when you're not there anymore I understand the reasoning. Make everyone listen to what YOU want and not be able to complain too much!   Razz

I was being a bit "tongue in cheek" about a playlist for my demise.

But I'm a HUGE fan of playlists! So often I'd go to Tower Records for a CD of ONE track that I really wanted and all too often never learned to enjoy many of the other tracks on the CD.
That was then.
This is now. I go online, download the song I want and add it to my music library. I have LOTS of songs there and I don't fire up the thing and start at the top.
I pick the tunes that I feel are "comparable" that fit together and create a mood or combinations of moods I want to hear. I make that a "playlist".

Works for me. But it's great we all get to make choices.
