Is facebook slow for anyone else?
#1
For some reason when I log on to FB with my computer and start looking at posts and commenting.
After a while it get s slower and slower.
It gets so bad that when I type I have to wait for the words to show up. Or if I'm scrolling I have to wait for posts to load.
Anyone else have this issue?
OH yeah, every thing else works perfectly.

I sometimes have that problem when my computer is running things in the background... like diagnostics, checking for updates, etc.

I've heard that visiting questionable websites, (midget viking porn?) might cause damage that will slow you down. So you might want to do less of that.

Yeah, I've noticed the too. Very often after visiting Midget Video Porn my 24 Baud dial up modern slows down to a crawl. Hard to understand because I'm running DOS 2.0. (And I have 64 MEGABYTES of RAM)

I have zero firewall or malware protection , Norton can pound sand. I haven't had anything for a couple of years. I don't use condoms. I have a piece of seat belt strap I hang over my shoulder when I drive. I stand on the top of step ladders. Safety glasses are for gay people.I have the guard on my circular saw wired back.I rotate my tires when I F***king feel like it. No one is the boss of me.
I recently installed adblock. Now I wonder if that's what is slowing me down when I'm on FB?

I'm no techie, but I doubt ADBLOCK would slow you down. And, is it mostly Facebook? That would suggest a Facebook issue rather than a system thing (duh).
And most well informed computer geeks I know agree with you about Norton. A memory hog and almost impossible to remove. But...If I was using a PC I'd look into some kind of virus protection. I used AGE when I had the PC and liked it okay. Others may suggest something better.
And I admire your attention to all thing safety. It should be at least a week before we come to visit you in the hospital. We won't bring flowers because you DON'T use safety glasses.

OR it's because FB takes a lot more of a computers resources than any other site I visit. That's my thinking at this point.
When you are scrolling when you are on FB you are opening every stupid video that goes by PLUS all the ads on the right side of the screen.

I think you are onto something. I don't log onto Facebook a lot, but I think I may have noticed this too. (However I use a MacBook, FAR superior to a PC so it's apples/oranges)  Razz Razz Razz

Speaking of safety and such. The other night while I was possibly drunk and a little high. I was removing a bunch of shelving in my shop.
Because I'm going to enclose a portion and make it livable with insulation carpet AC and electric heat etc.
Well It was not going as fast as I like so I got fairly aggressive and ended up causing an avalanche from the top shelf that still had lots of stuff on it.
Anyway I killed my 40 in TV Laughing Laughing

Safety: It's a matter of perspective.

A visiting "suit" at a rock quarry saw a number of guys busting rock and only one guy wearing safety glasses. He commented about out and the foreman told him, "Oh yea, he only has one eye".

Slow down. They make lots of 40" TV sets, not so many body parts.

Slowing down is not going to happen Wink It's just may nature. But I could rethink doing demolition while I'm plastered.

Holey crapola.

I found out what was slowing down my computer... it was adblock.

I uninstalled it and now my PC is lightning fast.

It was so freaking bad I could type several words before they appeared on the page.

Try Adblock Plus, that's what I use. No problems.
