Well isn't this kind of a no brainier? Legal MJ  takes business away from the cartels. Less smuggling equals less chance for violence when they run in to resistance.
If our government would simply read the writing on the wall that says legalization is immanent and legalize it in all states at federal level.
Then the cartels would be forced out of the weed business.
