Lets see, maybe if you are breaking windows and looking to steal things from peoples cars. And you are sneaking through through peoples yards.
The maybe when the police confront you in the dark.. Maybe you should obey their commands?
He didn't. He ran and according to the cops he then took a "shooting stance" toward the cops. From watching the police cam videos it seem obvious they thought Clark had a gun.
The part that seems wrong is the number of times they fired. But I believe standard protocol is to fire until there is no longer a threat.
Also it seems ridiculous that the two cops remained partially hidden or were either afraid or their training told them to not approach until back up arrived.
The first news report I heard they said an unarmed BLACK man was shot dead by police. WTF? Why would a reporter include his race?
I doubt the cops had a chance to even know what color he was. When I first heard this story I told my wife.... I bet the black guy was doing something stupid. I was totally right.

So, are you saying they are manipulating the situation? But I agree, it's interesting that race is brought up right away.

Yes mentioning the victims race is putting a spin on what happened. It's not news it's sensationalism. It implies that race was a factor.

I think these two cops might have went a little overboard on the amount of lead they were throwing down stream

I can't speak to being a cop, but I always think that. I think that once they pull the trigger that's pretty much it, they empty the gun.

I don't know about that. I think you believe that based on what the media has shown. But I do I remember about 30 years ago when the MPD shot and killed a bank robber in his pickup.
The cab of the truck looked like a sieve.
I found a study of NYPD for 11 years and it says....
¶In such shootings, the total number of shots fired in each situation edged up to 4.7 in 2006. However, the figure is skewed by the 50 shots fired in the Bell case. Excluding that case, the average would be 3.6 shots.
¶The average number of bullets fired by each officer involved in a shooting remained about the same over those 11 years even with a switch to guns that hold more bullets — as did officers’ accuracy, roughly 34 percent. This figure is known in police parlance as the “hit ratio

I don't know if I believe the media as much as human psychology...once the commitment has been made to start shooting I think it's just on.

I don't know if I believe the media as much as human psychology...once the commitment has been made to start shooting I think it's just on. I get that. But unless I'm wrong almost everything you know about police shootings is from the media. And My guess is the more shots fired the more the media wants to sell the story.
The psychology aspect makes total sense. If I thought someone was shooting at me I would fire back as many times as possible or until I knew the person was no longer a danger.
That's just human nature I think and it's also what the police are trained to do.
