Yeah I know zero is the correct answer I looked it up. And yes the diagram is deceptive to say the least. More like a lie.

Like a trick question. I've taken licensing tests that had just as tricky questions.

I've seen plenty of trick questions but not lying diagrams

I didn't look it up. I saw the wire went down 40 feet from the top and to get back up would take another 40 feet. The cable is only 80 feet long, that leaves nothing left for a horizontal displacement.

Yep. Exactly what I did. It was a quick and dirty way to ballpark an answer and it ended up being the answer. The diagram didn't really lie, it just wasn't to scale.

Not being to scale is being purposely deceptive. I see two poles with a wire from top to top that is sagging and is 80 meters long. And 10 meters from the ground.
