What are you looking at that DOESN'T show Medord as hazardous? I guess I find that site confusing to use. Too many clicks to get to my info. I am using the DEQ which currently shows Medford at a whopping 249!!! I find that many sites show differing info, so that's very confusing. Who is correct? I'm using the DEQ and hoping they have their shit together.
Too many clicks to get to my info.
I don't understand that at all. When I click on the link it opens up with Medfords AQI. That's one click???
I can mouse over or click one time on any of the cities listed about and their AQI is shown on the screen
Medford..500
Grants Pass.. 178
Shady Cove..367
Applegate valley..173
Cave Junction...202
I'm using the DEQ and hoping they have their shit together.
It's updated every hour. I think it's the most accurate.. I guess.
I don't know, TV, my link (DEQ) takes me right there. Yours does not. Maybe because you are on a phone? Anyway it doesn't matter because that link I showed is full of shit LOL
Not on a phone. But I can get on deq and it will show me the same thing as I see here. I use it during the day at work.

That makes sense to me
500 is the highest AQ rating goes. The air can get dirtier, but the needle pegs at 500.
I know that but I'm saying it's stuck at 500.. It's wrong. NONE of the other sites jive with this one
Maybe because they aren't in the same spot.
The AQ index is the highest of six measurements, PM 2.5 and PM 10 being measurements of particles in the air. The other ones are O3 (ozone), CO, SO2 and NO2.
I suspect that PM2.5 is topping the chart.

I found another site, must be the one your looking at
http://aqicn.org/city/usa/oregon/medford/
Looks like the Ozone sensor is bad, it's peg the AQ index at 500.
I bet the smoke has damaged it.

Yeah, but Chuck, that's what it reads on a cold rainy day. It IS stuck.
But why allow it to broadcast that reading?

Maybe the ozone sensors are correct

Quote:Atmospheric scientists have taken a comprehensive, multi-year look at the relationship between ozone pollution and wildfire smoke. Across the U.S., ozone levels were higher on smoky days than on smoke-free days, according to the study.

Personally I find it hard to believe it never varies by a single point.

Anyone here watch The Crown where they show the great fog? People were dying from that. Very toxic. Same here. I notice it seems to go up in the evening. I don't know what else I can do to improve the situation.

Personally I find it hard to believe it never varies by a single point. Exactly. CW did say it was damaged. At this point there's no other possibility

Full scale positive or negative is a common indication of failed sensor or telemetry. But, since I have no knowledge of the system(s) employed, I haven't a clue.

Personally I find it hard to believe it never varies by a single point. Well if the ozone is above 604 PPB then it would read 500, so ozone concentrations of 800, 700, 650 900 PPB would all report an AQ index of 500.

What's funny?
Did you click on it? Yes I found the same site the other day. I just now clicked on it typed 97501 in, chose Oergon and it says our AQI is 167. Which seems right to me.
Sorry, it's been years since I've taken a screenshot...how do I do that? In firefox? On the keyboard hit the print screen key ( you already knew that LOL).
Then go to paint , click on edit, then paste it and save it to your files.

The fact that it's so much easier to post a picture on Facebook thean forums like this is why these things are almost extinct
