I'm sure some news announcer got it wrong because I read 38,000 PEOPLE were evacuated numerous times in different news sites.

I've heard lots of incorrect things. I heard the Penninger fire called the Hendrix fire....

Our local news with all the kids doing the reporting blow it fairly often LOL

Once my wife and I were watching the news about an accident on the redwood highway. I said that's not the redwood highway. She said it was and we argued.I went back to the video and looked slowly and found a sign showing it was just stock footage of some freeway in California. Laughing

They do the same thing all the time

This morning I read about the Carr fire and THEN I read about the Ferguson (Yosemite) fire, raging in SOUTHERN California. Neutral

Tonight on the news about the fires the showed the wind speed  with a circle with the MPH number inside and an arrow showing the direction.
Seconds later on the weather they showed the wind going exactly the OTHER direction

That's because they are directing the path of the flames with HAARP

(Also the Chem Trails)

You can all calm down now that the "stable genius" has explained the situation.  Rolling Eyes

"California wildfires are being magnified & made so much worse by the bad environmental laws which aren’t allowing massive amount of readily available water to be properly utilized. It is being diverted into the Pacific Ocean. Must also tree clear to stop fire spreading!"

So you have decided no one in the entire fire fighting business around here knows WTF they are doing based on some problems you are aware of?

Yup, there is no money in getting the fires out. Fire is big business cash cow, as evidenced now more than ever.

I don't doubt that. I have no doubt that some individuals get very, very rich off these things...but...it's an opportunity is it not?  I mean, what's the alternative?

Trump says of the California fires:
Quote:There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor. Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!
What does Trump expect to happen?  And while he's at it, does he not think the other side of nation should do something to 'manage' things better?  Maybe build dikes?

And then...

"More than 4,000 are fighting the Camp and Woolsey Fires in California that have burned over 170,000 acres. Our hearts are with those fighting the fires, the 52,000 who have evacuated, and the families of the 11 who have died. The destruction is catastrophic. God Bless them all."[Image: 40e69c23368eda4f7e5952f0f75da167.jpg]

WOW no sensationalism here....|

 The toll
Here's the latest on the fires:
Camp Fire: The largest of the trio, the Camp Fire has burned 109,000 acres across Northern California and is 25% contained as of Sunday morning, according to Cal Fire. It's destroyed an estimated 6,700 buildings, most of which were homes.
Woolsey and Hill fires: In Southern California, the Woolsey fire has spread to 83,275 acres and was 10% contained, up from 5% the night before. The smaller Hill Fire covered 4,531 acres and was 70% contained. Together, responsible for the destruction of 179 structures, but another 57,000 are threatened, according to fire officials.
Massive evacuations: More than 300,000 people have been forced from their homes statewide. The majority of those residents are in Los Angeles County, where 170,000 were evacuated.

I'm sorry for them. I haven't lost anything due to wildfire though I've come close a couple times.

Me too we got evacuated once. In 1986 when I lived in the woods out near Wimer.
