"Supreme Court curbs power of government to impose heavy fines and seize property"
-Fox News

Glad to see this practice finally being slapped down. It was getting way out of control.
Nice. Of course it's probably just being preemptive.

Preemptive? It's been going on for 15 years or more. It evolved into confiscating property without charges even being filed. I don't have any problem taking of ill gotten gains but it should be linked to a conviction and actual ill gotten gains. And it shouldn't be used as just another revenue stream. That kind of begs for abuse.

With so much having been confiscated over the years I wonder if there will be a rush to reverse past abuses. That could be expensive.
