I think it's trucks in general, I have been keeping an eye out for a truck, nothing fancy, I just get tired of always having to hook up the utility trailer when I need to haul stuff. Folks in general think their trucks are worth top dollar. From roached out old Toyota's to Dakotas everyone thinks they are on a gold mine.

Around 2004 I sold a 1982 toyota 4x4 pickup, I was the 3rd owner, 250K on it, I sold it for $1500, I was happy because that was the same price I had paid for it in 1996. That same truck now with the condition it was in at the time, I could ask $4000+ and probably get it!! In hindsight I never should of sold it, but it was about as comfortable to drive as a brick with square wheels and the heat that would radiate through the fire wall in July with no A/C was hot enough to cook a steak.

I have seen good prices on Toyota trucks recently. I always check out Jeeps, fourrunners and Toyota trucks.

I don't know why LOL

I just read this again and you said...."I think it's trucks in general"  I don't see that at all.

Anyway I think people just IMAGINE a car or truck is worth more than it actually is. Like this....Who's going to pay almost 4 grand for that?

Great car 135,000 miles still has plenty to go. New spark plugs, new air filter, new rear speaker sub and amp. Only think thats wrong is the back latch to the trunk got bent and wont close other than that car runs great has bew gas tank bew clutch aftermarket muffler and carburetor. Any questions just ask these cars are hard to find especially manuals and this one runs flawlessly. Plus youll save a ton in gas

Every truck I see for sale seems to be valued VERY high. It's not a good used truck market out there and never has been.

For whom? It is for sellers right? LOL

I think it was a buyers market back when gas was 4 bucks a gallon. I sold a 72 Chevy truck and an 82 Dodge van and I was taken for a ride. Sad

Anyway the Toyota trucks have always had a high resale value as well as 4runners. And the expensive Ford trucks I mocked earlier really are sought after.
They are 1967 to 1977 1/2 and are somewhat rare. Then you have the "square body" Chevy trucks that are now very popular. They were made from 1973 to 1987.
Excluding those trucks and any trucks older you can still get a relatively cheap pickup.

As far as trucks I'm pretty sure I scored a home run. I found this 1978 GMC Sierra classic 15. It's  heavy half ton.
I paid $450 for it and sold the old camper that was on it for $200 Big Grin  What a country Wink It need a transmission to run.I paid $70 to have it towed so I have $320 in to this rig.
The Odometer says 88,000 and I actually think that it hasn't flipped.

I owned that exact model car, same color even, in the early 90s. It was a great car. I drove the crap out of it and it never let me down. I was commuting a lot to Salem in those days, it was a gas sipper. I ended up selling it to a friend to buy a similar year Civic because I was young and thought the Civic "looked cooler" Truth be told, The Accord was better in every way and I quickly regretted selling it. It stayed in my circle of friends for years before it finally got rear ended and totaled.

Edit to add, and to answer your question, heck no, I would not pay almost $4g for it!

Looks like a deal to me, even if you sold it as is, you could double your money Razz . Were you able to fire it up and hear it run?  Are you going to flip it or you adding this to your collection?

I'm going to flip it. I have one truck and that's all I need. I don't have a collection LOL. The wife has an accord. I have an outback an F250 and a dodge van.
That's plenty enough to insure and buy new stickers and batteries LOL.

No I haven't started the engine. I can only hope it runs great as I was told. I've been too busy getting that camper off.. ( by my self with no jacks) and cleaning it up.
Also I have no power to anything in the cab. It has power windows and I wanted to roll them down.I saw at least two fuses that are blown. There is no key and I found a button on the underside of the dash that cranks the engine.
I don't know if the coil gets power. I haven't got that far yet.

The guy said he couldn't start it because the transmission was taken apart. But it's not. He just took off the metal cover that goes over the flex plate and disconnected the linkage.
He said he was going to put a transmission in it but he said he found out he was not as young as he used to be.
I don't think he had the skills .. ever.

What's weird on FB?  This page that I found while searching for something completely unrelated. https://www.facebook.com/Medford-oregon-...159257133/https://www.facebook.com/Medford-oregon-...159257133/

With a rather shocking cover graphic. I can't post the picture of the page because I can't use my firefox for FB and IE won't let me isolate the picture the way I want. Little help?

I think this is just a bunch oh young Medford punks with an axe to grind because someone reported what ever they were doing to the cops.
I wonder if FB would allow this if it was reported. I doubt it.
