Quote:The "Coronavirus Challenge" is circulating on the social media platform, TikTok and has led users to put their tongue on public toilets, doorknobs, grocery store carts and more.

"I'm just thinking, kids are really stupid," Doug McGowan said. "They don't understand the implications of what that could do to somebody. They may be immune to it or not showing signs of a problem, but they could take it home and infect their parents if they get it, and their parents could take it and infect somebody else."

Hospital should not have to waste PPE and resources on him, he should be forced to shelter at home, and if he dies, so be it. Should be consequences for stupidity.

Quote:At least one person in Kentucky is infected after taking part at a "coronavirus party" with a group of young adults, Gov. Andy Beshear said Tuesday.

The partygoers intentionally got together "thinking they were invincible" and purposely defying state guidance to practice social distancing, Bashear said.

How silly, they all should come to my Amtrek party, where we will prove how invincible we are, by jumping in front of the train.

Quote:Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has repeatedly dismissed the coronavirus as a “little cold” and urged residents to keep the country’s economy going, even going so far as to tell his supporters why he’s against lockdown: “We’re all going to die one day.”

Bolsonaro, who is often compared to President Donald Trump, upped the ante Sunday on his downplaying of the pandemic, capping weeks of spats with state governors demanding nationwide quarantine orders. The Brazilian Health Ministry reported 3,904 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 114 deaths related to its disease, COVID-19.

I was going to put this in the Corona thread, but it seemed more appropriate in stupid people news

Quote:Frost, a 43-year-old Democrat, told me the club’s mix of younger liberals and older conservatives had always gotten along just fine—but the guidelines were proving divisive.

At the driving range, while Frost and his like-minded friends slathered on hand sanitizer and kept six feet apart, the white-haired Republicans seemed to delight in breaking the new rules. They made a show of shaking hands, and complained loudly about the “stupid hoax” being propagated by virus alarmists. When their tee times were up, they piled defiantly into golf carts, shoulder to shoulder, and sped off toward the first hole.

Quote:Florida is now the only state with more than 5,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus that has not issued a statewide lockdown.

As of Wednesday morning, Florida had more than 6,700 cases, making it the fifth highest of all states. Of those cases, 85 people have already died. But Republican Governor Ron DeSantis has declined to issue a statewide "stay at home" or "shelter in place" order, as many other states have already done.

Quote:Florida governor falsely claims novel coronavirus hasn’t killed anyone under 25 in the US

Health officials have long said that the novel coronavirus is particularly dangerous for older individuals and people with underlying health conditions.
But Florida Gov. Ron Desantis made an even more staggering claim, that the virus hasn’t killed anyone under 25 in the United States.
"This particular pandemic is one where I don’t think nationwide, there’s been a single fatality under 25," DeSantis said during an April 9 meeting to discuss reopening Florida schools. "For whatever reason, it just doesn’t seem to threaten kids.

Sure send the little vectors to school so they can pick it up and bring it home.

Typical for many republicans. Anyway they can find to minimize or downplay the virus works for them.
